Transgaz is a state-owned company, which is the technical operator of the national natural gas transmission system in Romania.
The Company's primary activities are the domestic transportation and international transit of natural gas.
The Company is also responsible for the maintenance and operation of the Romanian national gas transportation system.
 Additionally, it is involved in the research and design activities in the field of equipment for the natural gas industry.
Through affiliated company, Nabucco Gas Pipeline International Gmbh, Transgaz SA is also engaged in the construction of a gas pipeline from Turkey to Austria.
